Restoration of the Pipe Organ

Restoration of the 1885 pipe organ continues following 30 years of silence.  The electronic organ is now nearing the end of its life with parts impossible to source and repairs becoming more difficult to effect.  Work started in November 2025 with David Wells Organ Builders of Liverpool being awarded the contract.  We anticipate the work will be complete in early 2027.

This year we will undertake the second phase which will cost £180,000 after we received a further grant of £20,000 from the John Pilling Trust, £30,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation and £10,000 from The Benefact Trust, owners of Ecclesiastical Insurance who is our insurer.

The second instalment of £50000 from the Vinehill Trust has also been made.  Our thanks to them.  David Wells estimates the work is about a third complete.
