Coffee Concert Series starts with a recital by Alex Fishburn
The recital on 10 August is presented by St Agnes Music and will be given by Alex Fishburn, Sub Organist at Liverpool Cathedral .
Alex was born in Wigan, Lancashire, and began his musical career as a chorister at St James' Church. He was a chorister at Durham Cathedral from 2003 to 2008 and, while there, began organ lessons with James Lancelot.
He later studied at Chetham's School of Music with Christopher Stokes and at the Royal College of Music with Margaret Philips, during which time he held positions at St Mary, Primrose Hill (Organ Scholar), Ss Peter & Paul, Bromley (Assistant Organist), and St John, Meopham (Organist and Director of Music).
Following his time at the RCM he was appointed director of music at All Saints, Cheltenham and pursued a freelance Music career. Alex returned to the North-West in late 2021 and in January 2024 succeeded Dan Bishop as Sub-Organist of Liverpool Cathedral, where he accompanies the cathedrals renowned choir alongside Ian Tracey, and directs the Occasional Singers, one of the cathedral's voluntary choirs.

N. Cocker: Interlude
J.S. Bach: Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C, BWV 564.
