The church has a special family connection with David and Sylvia Maxwell Fyfe who  were married at St Agnes in 1925. After their marriage they made their first home together around the corner in Lancaster Avenue. 

David was a Liverpool MP (for West Derby) who is the British drafter of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Songs of the People is a social media event in church on Friday 1 November at 11:00.

In 2025 we will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the ECHR with performances of Sue Casson’s song cycle DREAMS OF PEACE & FREEDOM as a living commemoration for a living law.

The  family of David and Sylvia want more people to know the story of modern human rights and to build the foundations of a barricade to protect everyone from those who want to undermine or withdraw from the Convention. David's special connection with Liverpool offers an opportunity to do this.
