Recent Projects:

Since the year 2000 a great deal has been achieved. Funding was secured from the English Heritage - Lottery Fund for major restoration work on the church.

Phase 1 was completed in 2003, and incorporated the re-roofing of the East end of the church and urgent high-level repairs to the spires and fleche. At the same time the whole of the electrical and lighting circuitry was renewed.

Phase 2 commenced in 2006 and was completed in the spring of 2007. This involved the complete re-roofing of the northern half of the church, where there was already very serious water ingress, badly eroding some of the internal stonework. Guttering and down pipes were also repaired.

Current Projects:

We are currently renovating the church hall. In the course of the first half of 2007, the kitchen was reduced in size and completely modernised. This gave us increased space to expand the provision of lavatories, enabling us to have separate male and female lavatories, as well as a cubicle for the disabled. At the same time, partitions have been put up at the far end of the hall, giving us two good-sized storage rooms. Still remaining to be done is the eradication of the damp areas in the long North wall of the hall and general internal re-decoration.

Future Projects:

Phases 3 and 4 of the church restoration remain to be carried out. Phase 3 encompasses the re-roofing of the South side of the church, and phase 4 involves the replacement of eroded stonework throughout the interior of the church. Rather more urgent at this stage is the repairing of the tiled floor in the church in various places where the tiles are cracked and have risen. There remains much work to be done!
